A habit is something which shapes our lives. Wikipedia says habit is a settled practice which is hard to give up. My mom says it defines what kind of a person you are and what you’ll be in the coming years of your life. Of course, I believe my mom more than Wikipedia but never obeyed her teaching! 😛 All my school and college years were gone in sleeping late in the night and waking up the next day when it was nearly afternoon. Waking up at 11 am was a normal thing for me. I was scoring good..no hectic schedules..no need to act according to the discipline..life was going well!
I never knew what I was missing. But I was messed up. Being a dancer I never honored my body and that payed back in my health and perspective. Every morning my willpower lost against my sleep. I was stuck and it was time to change my habit. It took me more than 3 months to start honoring the morning silence, the sun, the beauty of nature. And my perspective, my actions, my life plans started changing. I slowly became aware of my capabilities..of how I can plan and work through the day..of how important my health actually is. I’ve not done it for anybody else but for myself. I’ve said hello to mornings for working on my fullest potential, for being happy and healthy.
Don’t break bad habits because your mom tells you to, or because your friends advice you. Break bad habits for yourself. Change things for your long term success and happiness for you are well aware!
We living at this age and time are fully aware of ‘what to do’ and ‘what not to do’ so I’m not here to lecture you about anything. I’m here to share some incidents of my life and tell you that you are amazing and you can mend every bad habit into a life changing good habit. 🙂
